Once you reach age 65, or you are on Medicare Disability, a Medicare Supplement (With a Prescription Drug Plan) or a Medicare Advantage Plan is recommended. Depending on the type of medical services you receive, without a plan in place, there will be left over bills to pay. A good quality Medicare plan in place will transfer the risk. We have multiple carriers to fill this need.

New to Medicare

If you are turning 65 and currently receive Social Security benefits, your Medicare card will be automatically mailed to you about 90 days prior to your Medicare eligibility.

If you are turning 65 and are not receiving Social Security benefits, you will need to apply with the Social Security Administration. There are two ways to apply, but you can only do so 90 days prior to the first of the month of eligibility.

1. Apply in person: Your local Social Security office.

2. Apply on-line: https://www.ssa.gov/benefits/medicare/

   1. Use the blue tab halfway down the page titlted “Apply for Medicare only.” Once complete, you should get your card in the mail within 30 days.

We also recommend, upon your Medicare eligibility, you start a “My Medicare and My Social Security Online Account.” These will help you to keep up-to-date with your Social Security benefits and your Medicare Claims. They can be created using the following links:
